How the board works

This page explains the mechanics in plain English. It is not the contract. If anything here conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms govern.

The whole idea in one line

You pay money. You go up. Someone pays more. You go down.

There is no algorithm, no quality score, no editorial judgement, and no secret sauce. Rank is your paid total, sorted high to low. That is the entire system.

Rank

Every listing has a running total of what it has paid. Highest total is first. Second highest is second. And so on down the board.

Ties go to whoever got there first. If two listings sit on the same total, the one whose payment settled earlier ranks higher. Being early is worth something. Being late costs a dollar.

Prices

• Entry: $5. That is the smallest amount that puts you on the board.
• Take the belt: the leader's total plus $5. The number one spot costs five dollars more than the current champion has paid. That premium exists so nobody snipes the belt for a dollar the moment a leader stops topping up.
• Take any other position: that holder's total plus $1. One dollar clear of whoever is standing there.
• Every charge is at least $5. Rank moves a dollar at a time, but we do not take a payment smaller than five dollars. If you only need a dollar to pass someone, you pay $5 and land above them rather than exactly on them.
• Whole dollars only. No cents. This is US dollars throughout.

Top-ups: you only pay the difference

Your payments accumulate. They do not expire during the day, and they do not reset when you pay again.

If you have paid $40 and you want a position that needs $61, you pay $21. You are charged the difference and nothing more. Your total becomes $61.

This is why the board gets expensive slowly for the people already on it, and expensive quickly for everyone arriving late.

One board, three bands

There is one ranked board. Where you land on it puts you in one of three bands:

The bands are positions, not spend brackets. That means the cut lines stay meaningful whether the card holds eight listings or eight hundred, and you can always see exactly how far you are from the next one.

Finish in the top 10 when the card closes and you keep a badge for that night. Finish eleventh and you do not.

Midnight UTC: the card closes

At midnight UTC the card closes.

Three things happen at once:

1. The standings freeze. The final order is written to a permanent archive page. That page does not change, ever. It is the record of that night.
2. The top 10 keep a badge. Everyone inside the main card at the close receives an embeddable badge image that links back to the site. The champion's badge says champion; the rest say where they finished. Put it on your own page if you want to.
3. A new card opens immediately. Daily spend starts again from zero, and entry is $5 again.

Closing is not a fault, and it is not a refund event. It is the point.

The all-time board

Alongside the daily card there is an all-time board. It never resets.

Every dollar counts twice: once toward today's card, and once toward your all-time total. You do not pay twice, and you do not choose. One payment, both boards.

The daily card is a fight. The all-time board is a career.

No accounts. One token.

There is no sign-up, no password, and no dashboard behind a login.

A listing is created by its first settled payment. At that moment we show you a claim token, exactly once. That token is the only way to edit your listing or to top it up later.

Save it immediately. Put it in your password manager. We cannot look it up, we cannot reset it, and we cannot mail you a new one. If you lose it, the listing keeps its total and its position, but nobody can change it again, including you.

If you gave an email address, we also send the token there. That is the only backup that exists.

What is in a listing

Four fields:

• Name — what you are called.
• Tagline — one line. Make it count.
• Destination URL — where the click goes. It must be a real, public page you control or are authorised to promote.
• Email (optional) — used only to send your claim token and to tell you when someone has outranked you. It is never published and never sold.

Clicks

We publish a click count next to every listing. Everyone can see it, including your competitors.

Clicks are deduplicated per viewer per hour. The same visitor clicking your listing ten times in an afternoon counts once per hour, not ten times. Refreshing does not help you, and it does not help anyone attacking your number either.

Click counts are a public statistic. They do not affect rank. Nothing affects rank except money.

Payments

Stripe handles the payment. We never see your card number.

Payments are final. If someone outranks you five minutes later, that is the game working correctly, and there is no refund. You keep your accumulated total and your new, lower position. Pay again and you go back up.

Things this board is not

It is not a review site. It is not a ranking of quality. It is not an award, a certification, or a recommendation from us. Every entry is a paid advertisement, and the order tells you exactly one thing: who spent more.

We may remove a listing for fraud or for breaking the Acceptable Use Policy. Removal carries no refund, and the payment record is kept for auditing even after the listing disappears from the board.

The short version

Five dollars gets you on. Five dollars over the leader gets you the belt. One dollar over anyone else gets you their spot. Top 10 at midnight keeps a badge forever. Save your token.
